On the subject of DeviantArt

I've tried a lot of ways to showcase my modest collection of works over the years in an attempt to find the easiest and cleanest way. I've tried a wide range of services and some have been user friendly but required a subscription or other monetary investment in order to store and display a larger collection, some were infinite in their ability to show lots of pictures but were akin to pulling an apple through a keyhole. Oddly the best I've found for the greatest balance in ease-of-use and capacity was DeviantArt.

I know what the critics say, "Oh it's just a place for depressed teenagers to share their angst-ridden poetry with each other", but over the years it has become a place for artists of all skill levels and all artistic avenues to show a little to the world.

Customers .... the reason there aren't more photographers

The customer is to blame for the lack of photographers (at least independent ones) in the world today. With technology being what it is you'd think there would be a flood of newcomers to this art. The very people who keep it alive as an industry are the same ones who are destroying it. From the guy who wants tons of touch-ups because his idea of what a certain shot should look like is like a twisted negative of actual reality presents to the bride who wants her wedding photos to change her from the bearded lady to a supermodel.


I for one will be going more the "artsy" type for a while ... until this migrane calms down ...

First!

Well it's finally come to this. A photoblog. I never thought I would see myself doing blogging in any fashion but it's gotten to the point that I'd rather see a comments section instead of getting a ton of emails. So here it is, in all it's comment-y goodness.

And so here you will see updates on projects and shoots that we do and of course you'll get a chance to add your own ideas and requests. I'll try to keep up with it as often as I can.

And for no other reason than to do it ... A KITTEH!!!!!
